Save the date! The West Springfield CARE Coalition, in collaboration with West Springfield Park & Recreation, and the Lions Club, present a free community event at West Springfield High School on January 26, 2017. Stop in for a free pasta dinner from 5:45-6:30 p.m. in the dining commons, prepared by the Lions Club. Guest speaker Jon Mattleman, a parenting expert and mental health counselor, discusses “The Secret Lives of Teens” at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Attendees at the presentation will leave with new ways of understanding and engaging teens, confidence, courage and new language, as well as strategies to implement. Visit jonmattleman.com and this link about the presentation, and check out this Mass Live article for more info.
No need to hire a sitter -- please bring the children! While parents attend the Jon Mattleman presentation, their youth and teens will have an opportunity to participate in supervised activities, courtesy of Park & Recreation staff. These activities include coloring/games/homework help (6:30-8:00 p.m.), "The Secret Lives of Pets" movie (6:30-8:00 p.m. - Mini Theater), and open swim/pool games for ages 7 and older (7:00-8:00 p.m.). Please call 263-3284 with questions regarding the supervised activities. Adults who attend the Jon Mattleman presentation will be eligible to win a great door prize: a large flat screen TV donated by Ormsby Insurance/Toomey O’Brien/Costco - just in time for Super Bowl!
The CARE Coalition and partners are pleased to present this free family-friendly event on January 26, which is open to the public. In the event of snow, the event will be held on January 30. For more information about the event, please call 263-3290 or email .
