Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
Per NCLB regulations, students from low-income families attending Title I schools in their second year of school improvement (I.e., schools that have not made adequate yearly progress (AYP) for three or more years), corrective action, or restructuring status are eligible to receive Supplemental Educational Services, such as after-school tutoring. Supplemental Educational Services are being offered during the 2009-10 school year to West Springfield Middle School children from low income families. Services are provided in the student’s home, school, community center, or Internet.
State-approved SES providers for 2009-10 are:
Boston Learning Center, Brienza’s Academic Advantage, Catapult Learning, ClubZ! In-Home Tutoring, Commonwealth Learning Center, Educate Online, Hampshire Educational Collaborative, Huntington Learning Centers, Inc., Learn It Systems, Learning Styles L.L.C., Princeton Review K-12 Services, Smarties Tutoring Services, and Sylvan Learning Center.
