Important Letter for Students from Dr. Perrone (regarding March 16, 2020)
PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT LETTER TO STUDENTS FROM DR. PERRONE!
March 15, 2020
With Interim Superintendent Connor's announcement yesterday to administratively close all WSPS schools at the end of the professional development day, it became clear that students who were off will have two immediate needs:
Directions to continue 1:1 learning on Google Classroom/Teacher Websites
Possible short term access to the school to retrieve backpacks, Chromebooks/Chargers, or academic materials. (WSHS, 3/16/20 8:00-12:00)
First, this administrative closure of schools is not a vacation though it is interrupting classroom instruction. With our 1:1 technology teachers have been directed to provide skill-based learning via Chromebooks on Teacher Websites and Google classroom. I ask, encourage, and implore you to take some time every day to continue your learning as best you can during this world-wide pandemic.
This is especially true for Seniors at-risk of not graduating; you know who you are, and we have met to discuss plans for success. PLEASE continue working towards graduation success and your diplomas!!
Here is the link to the student activity page where you will find easy access to teacher websites.
Access Google Classroom through your student account.
Second, WSHS will be open for short term access on 3/16/20, 8:00-12:00. Onix and I will be on site to assist; however, there are expectations:
Students will enter and depart through the main office doors;
they will check in with Onix or me (say hello from a distance;) and proceed to their lockers;
I respectfully ask that students stay only as long as it takes to get their things. Please do not congregate and socialize, and once you are done, leave campus immediately. Remember this is about health and safety!
I will miss you during the administrative closure, but before you know it we will be back in session to close out an interesting year!!
