Good morning West Side!!!
NEW CLOSING DATE
Commissioner Riley has allowed districts who were up and running the week of March 16, to apply for a waiver from the 185-day requirement. I submitted a waiver last Friday and received notification yesterday that it was approved.
What does this mean for us?
The last day of school will be June 12, 2020, for Grades 1-11 and June 10, 2020, for ES and K.
Budget Status Updates:
As we all know, the uncertainty of many aspects of our "normal" lives is ever-present today. I am asking for everyone's patience while we try to figure out the budget picture. Obviously, we know that the economy has taken a large hit during this epidemic. Towns and cities have not received information at this point of what the state budget will look like. Actually, the state is still waiting on the feds to announce their adjusted budget. In Central Office and across the town, we are looking at worst-case scenarios to the best scenarios. Again, we have no idea of the fiscal impact but need to be sure we are not caught on our heels when the numbers come in. More to follow.
Thank you, for all you are doing!!!
