According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Massachusetts is currently experiencing widespread flu activity.  Important information for families about preventing spread of the flu is listed below.  It is not too late to get a flu vaccine from your healthcare provider.  In addition to frequent hand washing with soap and water or if not available, the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers helps prevent the spread of flu.  You should contact your healthcare provider if your child gets sick.  If your child has flu symptoms, they should stay home from school and rest until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine.
