Dear Parents and Guardians,
On behalf of the Cowing Early Childhood staff, I would like to welcome you and your child/children to Cowing School. We provide a balanced developmental and academic program which enables each student to reach their potential.
Friday, August 30, 2019, marks the beginning of this school year. For Cowing Early Childhood, this first day will be a Meet and Greet for early childhood students. Regular classes will not be held. Please be sure to bring a flower to add to our community bouquet.
Classes and Bus Pick-up for early childhood students will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. The only required school item is a backpack. This backpack MUST come to school each day. We provide everything else! If you are in need of a backpack, please call and let us know. If you would like to send in any donations, classroom teachers are always looking for disinfectant wipes and tissues. Our nurse is in need of new underwear and neutral colored sweatpants.
We are looking forward to working with you and your child to make this year productive and enjoyable. We strive to be aware of each child’s individual needs and to address them in a positive manner. We encourage you to form a partnership with us and be involved in your child’s education. Please pay particular attention to your child’s attendance. Regular attendance is an advantage to your child. In addition, we encourage all families to commit to reading together 15 minutes every day. Reading aloud is the single most important thing you can do to prepare your children for lifelong learning success.
Children’s records must be up-to-date for admission to school. A physical examination within the last year and appropriate immunizations for all students is required for entrance to school. Children will be admitted to school as soon as all paperwork is submitted. The school secretary will be available at Cowing School beginning on Monday, August 19th for any questions. The school office is open from 8:15-3:45 each day.
We are looking forward to the year ahead filled with many wonderful learning experiences.
Kathleen Bailer, Principal
