Welcome Class of 2023!  The WSHS Guidance Department is pleased to announce the launch of a new College and Career Information Systems available to our students called Navigator.  Shortly you will be asked to create a log in and take assessments.  I will review the results with you and encourage you to explore your careers.

College Admissions: Why Starting in 9th Grade Matters

Every fall, we see families of seniors in “crunch mode”, trying
desperately to catch up on college visits, SAT/ACT testing, financial aid
forms and applications. Which begs the question, “When is the right time
to start the college admissions process?” It’s a double-edged sword.
Start too early and you risk putting too much pressure on kids; start too
late and you risk putting too much pressure on kids. In the end, it’s a
balancing act of beginning early while not inundating students. Here are
some tips on when to start each part of the process:

  •  masscis.intocareers.org  - resources to take assessments on likes, interests and skills to help determine a career or college major.  This is a great resource to research different jobs!
